Main Character Narration:

It takes a strong sense of imagination to think of a worst case scenario, although even the dullest of people can come up with the life that they want. God must have an amazing sense of imagination to create a life like mine. My name is Hate Elizabeth Wright. My parents named me Hate because neither of them wanted a child. When we're in public they call me Eliza because they don't want people to think that they are bad parents. I am fifteen years old and have never talked to anyone my age in the past 3 years. My mom is in jail for the use of illegal drugs. She didn't hug me before she left. She didn't even say goodbye. My mother just walked out the door without the slightest glance towards her daughter. My father developed pancreatic cancer when I was 6 years old. He doesn't feed me and doesn't buy me any new clothes. I have to sneak out of the house at night just to find food. I have to steal pants from the trash. Normal teenage girls don't typically want their parents to die. Normal girls don't pray that they'll get sent to an orphanage home.

Ace

So, lately me and Ace haven't been talking very much. This breaks my heart.
See, I've decided that I'll refuse to fall in love with anyone else until I can have him.
I've found out a lot about him, actually.
His phone number, for example.
And his address.
And his real name.

What does he know about me?
Maybe more than I'm aware of; maybe he's not telling me everything.
